The archeologists and art historians used the scientific data for conservation the glass artifacts.

In the present work glasses that reproduce ancient Japanese samples were synthesized and their structure and properties were studied, by infrared spectroscopy, high temperature microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The influence of minor additives on the properties was also approached. The chemical stability in water was determined by standard tests. The extraction solutions were investigated by conductivity measurements. The investigations were realized in order to a good understanding of their structure and chemical stability in order to establish a suitable protection against the environmental factors.
