Composite materials toughened with 
t-ZrO2 are used in the mechanical engineering because its fracture 
behaviour may control by structural transformation. 
In this work was studied the behaviour of some 
materials, with tialite and zirconium oxide in correlation with thermal phases 
diagram of quaternary CeO2-ZrO2-Al2O3-TiO2
system. In this paper was showed that 
may obtain the composite materials constituted by Al2TiO5 
and t-ZrO2 at the relative low temperatures. By the reaction between 
zirconium titanate and corundum and t-ZrO2 and Al2O3 
forms the tialite, a compound that assure to samples a good resistance at 
thermal shock.
