This paper deals with the synthesis of a Ni/Ag based nanomaterial which was achieved using granular macroporous silver (support) – nickel carboxylate - benzyl alcohol system. The as-prepared product was characterized by the techniques: Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Energy-Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and magnetization measurements. The material has ferromagnetic properties due to the nickel content and could be suitable for electrochemical and / or catalytic uses.
